Meeting Minutes for the September 14, 2006 InfraGard Central Missouri Members Alliance
meeting held at the University of Missouri, Columbia
Meeting called to order by President Morris at 10:10 A.M. An introduction was made of the attendees to the meeting.
Old Business:
- Minutes of the previous meeting presented to the membership for approval. Motion and second made to accept the minutes as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
New Business:
- President Morris gave a report on her attendance to the National Congress. Each chapter president was presented with a President’s Handbook. There are now 85 chapters across the United States. The InfraGard National Members Alliance (INMA) annual report was presented to the Congress attendees.
- President Morris advised the attendees that an election is to be held for the officers and two board members of the Central Missouri chapter. Nominations for those positions will be open until the next meeting in November. All nominations should be sent to R.D. Porter, Secretary/Treasurer. Nominations will also be accepted from the floor at the November meeting. Elections will be held at the January meeting.
Upcoming events:
- A discussion was held on the upcoming security events and presentations around the state. There is a FBI AgriTerrorism conference in Kansas City on September 25-29. SA LuAnn Stovall gave a brief talk on the conference.
- MOREnet will hold a security symposium on November 28-29 in Columbia. Randy Raw gave a brief update on the symposium.
Open Discussion:
- Office of Administration attendees discussed a new incident response plan for state agencies that should be released in the very near future. Final review is being conducted at this time.
- State agency attendees discussed the characteristics of an unnamed virus they believe may be on their network.
- The chairperson of the security domain in the State Architecture committee gave a briefing on the security related documents that had been approved and listed on the state information architecture website.
- DHSS attendees discussed a two hour small business Business Continuity session that will be held in Jefferson City, no date is set at this time.
Special Presentation:
- With no further business to discuss, the meeting was suspended at 10:50 for a special presentation on the Science and Technology of Terrorism and Counter Terrorism given by Dr. Mark Prelas and Dr. Dabir Viswanath of the University staff.
- After the presentation, the meeting was called back to order and the motion to adjourn was accepted at 11:45 P.M.
